UEA Internship Programme: Internship Subsidy Expression of Interest Form 2025/26

UEA is able to offer subsidies to SMEs to help with the cost of employing a UEA student or graduate intern through the UEA Internship Programme.

Please complete this form if you would like to apply for a subsidy to employ an intern to support your project. Please note that subsidy funding is limited and subject to availability, and therefore cannot be guaranteed. Internships must be developmental opportunities and applications will be assessed based on this criteria.

Funding available and criteria

  • A SME is an organisation with fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than £50 million.
  • Subsidies are available for UEA Employed internships.
  • Subsidies are available for 50% off the cost of the internship up to a maximum of £2,000.
  • Internship hosts can apply for up to a maximum of £2,000 internship subsidies in total per financial year (August - July).
  • Internships must start by 31st July 2026.
  • Subsidy funding is limited and subject to availability, and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
  • Internships must be developmental opportunities.
  • Internship hosts will be required to complete a checklist before the internship and during the first week of the internship to ensure both the intern and their supervisor are clear on expectations.

Internships are developmental, often project-based, opportunities for students and graduates to develop their skills and put their academic knowledge into practice in a real world context.

Please provide details of the project you would like to recruit an intern to support with and the internship opportunity you would like to offer a UEA student or graduate.
