Are you interested in working in the public sector and contributing to the improvement of public services? Would you like to find out more about a career in the Civil Service and have your CV evaluated by a current Cabinet Office Civil Servant?
If you are a current 2nd or 3rd year student with an interest in the variety of jobs and entry routes within the Civil Service, this is your opportunity to:
A) receive feedback on your CV from a Cabinet Office colleague
B) have an informal discussion with a Cabinet Office colleague to understand what roles are available in the Civil Service, what experience is recommended, routes into the civil service etc
Those working in the civil service need to display key values and competencies - your CV will need to reflect these areas. If you are interested in having you CV assessed please:
- 1)Reflect on the Civil Service values and core competencies (http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Civil-Service-Competency-Framework-July-2012.pdf)[look particularly at level 2 and 3 – as this indicates what is expected at graduate entry level and graduate fast stream entry level]
- Are there ways in which you can already demonstrate some of these – the values are focussed around:
- a) Strategic: Setting Direction – seeing the bigger picture; changing and improving and; making effective decisions
- c) Performance: Delivering Results – achieving commercial outcomes; delivering value for money; managing a quality service and; delivering at pace
- d) People: Engaging People – leading and communicating; collaborating and partnering and; building capability for all
