The University Officers' Training Corps (OTC) for East Anglia has launched a new student leadership competition with a £1,000 cash prize up for grabs! Nationally, the OTC is part of the British Army Reserve and works to provide military leadership training to students at British universities and raise awareness of the Armed Forces.
The Corps recognises that students will go on to become leaders in all walks of life, and so has set up the Cambridge Leadership prize to promote the subject of leadership (new for this year) and the organisers are now inviting applications to the new Cambridge Leadership Prize, the first of its type in the country. Participants will have to demonstrate exceptional leadership potential in a series of tasks, and the winner of the £1,000 prize will be decided by a judging panel.
The competition launched in February 2015, and will run until November 2015. If you would like to apply, you can get an application pack by calling 01223 247818, or email
UOTCCambridge-RHQ-E2Clk@mod.uk.
You will need to include examples of exceptional leadership demonstrated in the 24 months preceding the application deadline, and you will also be required to submit a 2,000 word essay on a title set by the judging panel. The deadline for applications is the 31st July.
