The aim of the course is to provide a discussion forum and peer support for women that are nearing the end of their PhDs, ‘early career’ or returning to academia after a career break. The group will include some senior academics, who will share their experience in what will be a very supportive environment.

An opportunity to express your aspirations and reflections around pursuing an academic career, explore what work-life balance means to you, and devise an action plan to help you move forward.

Individual participants will benefit in three key ways:

  • Taking time away from their day-to-day responsibilities to share their career progress and aspirations with others.
  • Developing language to describe their skills and experience.
  • Identify actions to help them move forward.

Feedback from the 2014 course: "Thought provoking and invigorating, time well spent"
